Doetsch Tech Nitro-Slammer Premium
Truck Shock Absorbers |
Founded in 1982 by truck racer Rick Doetsch, Doetsch
Tech is a American shock absorber company built on over 20 years in racing.
Most shock companies offer you shorter versions of "stock-type"shocks
(same valving, piston size, pressure, etc.) and then they call them "lowered
shocks" or "drop shocks". Not the case with these guys, because
they know that for you to be happy . . . you need to "feel the difference"
. . . Doetsch Tech NITRO-SLAMMER
premium lowered truck shocks: Add
a set of 4 to your drop kit for only $39.95 each
for a mini-truck or $44.95 for a full-size truck
or SUV . . . With
1-3/8" oversized piston bores, special pro- gressive valving and 180
psi of nitro-pressur- ization, this shock is specially set for your dropped
truck! Many brands lay claim to offering a "drop shock". Some will
offer large piston bores and varying nitro-pressures but none have got the
valving that makes this shock so different from the rest. Most other brands
simply make a shorter version of the stock shock. With Nitro-Slammers,
the secret lies in their special progressive valving which takes into account
the reduced travel available with a dropped truck. This is done by progressively
restricting fluid flow through the infinitely-staged valving apparatus as
the shock is compressed. This pro- vides a progressively increasing level
of shock dampening on the compression stroke during suspension modulation
(bumps or corners). This translates into less bottoming, less bouncing, flatter
cornering, increased overall stability and precise body control with a "sport
feel". And, by dialing in the specs just right with nitro pressure at 180
psi, and setting the valve spread at 50/50 for dampening & rebounding,
you'll find that returning from a "bump in the road" is quicker
and better controlled. And don't forget . . . we
have all the sizes necessary in order to setup a drop shock package for
your American-made truck, no matter how you lowered it . . . Don't
forget all the other advantages to the NITRO-SLAMMER: 1/
Nitrogen is an inert gas and will not expand under heated conditions like the
air in a non-gas shock. This prevents all the "bounciness" you get
from a lesser shock after some hard, high performance driving. 2/ The
cool, stable 180 psi nitro pressure prevents aeration and oil foaming common in
non-gas shocks, preventing that "mushy" feel you get from a lesser shock
after its hot. 3/ Premium urethane bushings are used for the ultimate in long-term
durability, preventing worn out bushings and loose shocks. 4/ Teflon wiper
seals are used to keep dust and road-debris from following the shaft back
into the internals of the shock body. 5/ Twin-tube shock design prevents accidental
denting of the outer tube from damaging the piston and the inner cylinder
of the shock. 6/ Massive 9/16" thick chrome shaft gives you the strength
and durability you should expect from a premium quality shock. 7/ A high
gloss black enamel finish with red bushings give these shocks a classy look
with a clean, high performance touch. 8/ Stickers are included for application
to your shocks or your show truck display board. 9/ A "lifetime guarantee"
from Doetsch Tech that we will honor should you need it. If your shock ever
leaks, breaks or just plain wears out, send it back to us and we'll send you
a brand new one...for as long as you own your truck! Can you beat that? Our
Technical Department's evaluation of the other brands as compared to the Doetsch
Tech Nitro-Slammer: Ground
Force Shocks: NOT BAD, AT LEAST THESE GUYS TRIED, AVERAGE DURABILITY (Decent
quality shock but valving is not as effective as the NITRO-SLAMMER in dealing
with the bumps in short-travel, nor as durable; don't overpay for 'em).
KYB Gas-Adjust shocks: NICE QUALITY SHOCK THAT DOESN'T BELONG ON A
LOWERED TRUCK (You'll find lots of shops that use KYB's, just don't let 'em put
'em on your lowered truck...you'll be wasting your money). AIM
/ Chassis Tech "SLAMR NITRO" & "CHASSIS TECH NITRO" shocks:
DON'T BE LED TO BELIEVE THAT THE "SLAMR NITRO" IS A DOETSCH TECH
PRODUCT. IT IS NOT! (You can call Doetsch Tech directly at 1-800-8-SHOCKS to confirm
this. AIM industries is not a Doetsch Tech distributor, so neither the"SLAMR
NITRO" nor the "CHASSIS TECH NITRO" Doetsch Tech products.) Always
beware of shocks with no historical track record and/or of questionable origin.
Your truck's ride quality and handling is too important. Toxic
Shocks: TOO HARSH, POOR WORKMANSHIP, LACK OF DESIGN AND DURABILITY
(Cheap $29 shocks for those who just don't care or don't know any better. Includes
stupid looking "skull and crossbones" decal. Use your head, save up
for some real shocks...like the Doetsch Tech Nitro-Slammer ! ) ________________________________________________________________________

Doetsch Tech Shock Absorber Boots -
$9.95 per pair: Available for those guys needing some extra protection
over their shafts...you know, in salty areas...like seaside towns or east-coast
and mid-west areas that use salt on the winter roads. These will keep any
surface rust from damaging your shaft during the "ol' in-and-out".
These shock boots come in red or black with with zip ties to keep them securely
mounted to your shocks for the protection they deserve. |
Doetsch
Tech uses an in-house dynomometer to allow them to test each shock design
before and after it goes into pro- duction. This shock dyno has the ability
to stroke a shock up and down to simulate the worst road condtions. And,
since each shock absorber gets a lifetime warranty, testing is very important.
If one ever fails, it costs ' em. But when they hold up the way we know they
do, you and your buddies will be buying Doetsch Techs for all your rigs. |

Even though we don't carry every line of Doetsch Tech
shocks, its nice to know that they have the know-how to design special shocks
for just about every custom application you can think of; circle track racing,
4x4 pre-runner, off- road racing, motorhomes, street rods, etc. |
Rick
Doetsch has competed in everything from motocross, ATC, Baja off-road
and
circle-track racing, as well as bull-riding. Let's face it, this guy
knows a lot about bumps. And he has learned even more about how to smooth
them out during his over 20 years of experience in setting up shocks for racing.
In this photo, Rick races in the Spec Truck series in a high- performance
Chevy S-10. Yes, you're right...it's equipped with Doetsch Tech shocks...and
you can bet Rick set 'em up himself... |
